Overview

NATO-compliant Cataloguing Solution

The NATO-compliant Cataloguing Solution is a catalogue management system which is compliant with the NATO Codification System used by more than 50 participating countries. The NATO Codification System is a one-standard, worldwide approach for recording information about both providers and suppliers.

SCS pioneered the development and implementation of the system, which was a key factor behind Singapore’s attainment of the prestigious NATO Codification System Tier 2 Nation Status in 2002. The Tier 2 Nation Status enables Singapore to make use of the NATO cataloguing database and allows items codified by the Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA) to be recognised internationally as part of the database.

The NATO-compliant Cataloguing Solution comprises the following major components:

  • Catalogue management for local and overseas items
  • User management for local and overseas users
  • Interface to Procurement system to generate purchase requisitions for top-up of items
  • Online item enquiry for trusted partners and services users to enquire about items in the catalogue
  • Document Management System to store and retrieve pictorial specifications of items
  • Report generation

Benefits
